Managing data across the organization requires the development of performance metrics to evaluate how the business is performing and whether these goals are being met. In addition, to make sure initiatives are running smoothly, the use of BI tools help identify potential issues proactively. As BI use matures within organizations, its use is starting to merge with that of other initiatives. This includes the use of data visualization tools, and metrics specifically, to help drive data quality, master data management, and data governance initiatives. This presentation provides an understanding of:
  • why BI is important to MDM, DG, and DQ success
  • the BI components and considerations required to address data management metrics
  • how to identify the right metrics for individual initiatives
  • leveraging current organization BI use and expanding it beyond traditional analytics use
  • how to overcome potential roadblocks concerning this type of expansion - technology, political, security, management, etc.
  • looking at net new BI for MDM, DG, and DQ requirements
