Level:  Business / Non-Technical

We often hear from the experts that there isn’t one right way to do data governance. But what they don’t tell us is how to find the best way for our organizations.

This presentation will take you through the multi-year evolution of a data governance program. While it won’t give you the right answer on how to do data governance, it will give you enough examples and lessons learned to help you find your own right way.

This session will include:

  • Examples of Data Governance Frameworks and the value of a framework
  • Examples of organizational structures
  • Tips for moving from “Planning” to “Doing”

Carolyn Lewis is responsible for organizing and promoting data governance across all the businesses of UnitedHealth Group and establishing an enterprise-level glossary of business terms. Prior to joining UnitedHealth Group in 2010, Carolyn gained IT experience at Target and Xcel Energy in project management, information architecture, master data management, business intelligence, e-procurement, ERP implementation, and data governance.
